Party of 6

Adventuring and traveling with a family of 6

Adventure Race

What better way to spend Father’s Day than a 4 hour race! The most recent adventure we are tackling is adventure racing. Yes, 2 adults and 4 kids are training for a four hour adventure race. 6 bikes, 6 helmets, 6 camelbacks, 6 whistles, a couple of compasses, and 6 people ready to take on an adventure race. The adventure race consists of navigating, hiking, kayaking, and biking.

We started training by running a one mile loop everyday. After a few times of just running we added in biking. We began to run a mile and bike a mile. Our kiddos are rocking it!

Then comes the gear. The race requires certain gear that each team has to carry and each individual participant has to carry. Who knew a whistle could be so exciting! Each person has to have a whistle, water, and bike helmet. Each team has to have a compass, first aid kit, and duct tape. We are gathered and ready to complete our race.
