There were some needed items and some updating of items what we needed to get before we began our race.
Each person needed to have a whistle. I am sure Izzy would have used hers if she was not too busy trying to hoist herself on top of a sinking canoe.
We purchased a large package of whistles and now we have backups if needed.
We needed to have a compass in order to orienteer and find points in the woods. We purchased 4, so that the bigs could learn to use the compass.
We updated the kiddos bike helmets. They all got to pick their color they wanted.
We also purchased carabineers. These little items are all purpose. We could hang things on the bikes or our camelbacks, such as the first aid kit.
We have had the kids hydration backpacks for several years now. Thought I would I share what they use. They also come in several different colors.
