Party of 6

Adventuring and traveling with a family of 6

Stop 8: Grand Teton National Park

Wow! This National Park is breathtaking. The size of the mountains around you are hard to even describe. This park was actually not on our list of places to stop originally, but so glad we did.

But first, ice cream. How could you not stop at an ice-cream shop that is home to the “Big Cone”? It was delicious.

Home away from home for two days.

The girls put on a play for us at the amphitheater. It was a rendition of the Three Little Pigs.

A little site seeing at the marina.

A little karate lesson at the lake behind our campground.

Sunset at the lake at our campground.

Walking back up from the lake to our campground.

Reading the daily newspaper by the fire. The visitor center at the campground had a daily newspaper.

We got up the next morning and set off on a hike on Jenny Lake trail. A boat ferry can be taken over to other side to see the waterfall, but what is more fun than hiking 4 miles.

We veered off the trail to Moose Pond, and I am so glad we did. We had the pleasure of seeing a mom, baby, and juvenile male moose. We could have sat here for hours watching these sweet moose.

Such a neat experience.

The beautiful waterfall we made it to.

We then headed up the side of a mountain to the top of Inspiration Point.

We were all inspired at Inspiration Point.

The view from Inspiration Point was gorgeous. We walked to the boat ferry and it was going to be a 40 minute wait. Challenge accepted. Could we beat the family in front of us on foot while they waited at the ferry? So we walked another 3 miles back. Spoiler alert: we arrived at the exact same time, but we got a lot of exercise. A total of over 7 miles for this hike.

The kiddos completed an activity for their Junior Ranger badge. Each kiddo completed a piece of the Grand Teton Mountain range.

The kiddos earned their badge for Grand Teton National Park.

After all that hard work a dip in the lake was needed. Also, they were working on making a dock out of rocks.

Then a dinner of baked potatoes and corn on the cob.

Then the kiddos put on an after dinner play of The Three Billy Goats Gruff that included a bird at the end that swallowed up the troll.

Good night Grand Teton National Park. Up next is Yellowstone National Park.
