Party of 6

Adventuring and traveling with a family of 6

Stop 11: Mt. Rushmore

We made it to the faces. Although it may seem like you are only visiting a mountain with faces, the scale of skill and the amount of time it took is something to appreciate. We learned a lot from this stop.

Of course, wildlife on the way.

We stopped for lunch and a visit to the T-Mobile Museum (AKA the T-Mobile Store) to replace Steven’s phone. He is now back.

Near the visitors center.

The many poses with the faces.

The kiddos earned their Junior Ranger badges from Mt. Rushmore. We learned a lot about the monument and its place in history.

Climbing rocks.

We set up camp at Custer State Park in South Dakota. The Black Hills of South Dakota are beautiful.

The kids played for hours on this rock formation. They had other kiddos from nearby campsites join them. They were finding different kinds of rocks and sorting them.

Prospecting on the hill. Good night South Dakota. Our next stop will be somewhere in Iowa.
