We headed back to Hatcher Pass area for this next adventure. First we visited Independence Mine Sate Historical Park.

The snow! The kiddos were excited to see snow again. No snow in Anchorage yet, but it was fun to see it for a bit.

It was very neat seeing an old gold mine and imagining what it would have been like in its prime.

We left the snow and headed for another trail in Hatcher Pass.

More berry picking, I think more berries were eaten than collected this time.

Bo being Bo. He found a mushroom and said it was his umbrella in case it rained.

We struck gold (flakes). Along the river Bo spotted a gold flake so we scooped some of the dirt out of the river. Izzy sifted through it when we got home. This is what they found.
