Party of 6

Adventuring and traveling with a family of 6

Our Nation’s Capital

We recently had the opportunity to explore Washington, DC. We packed a ton of learning and exploration into our time. We first visited the National Mueseum of American History and the Washington Memorial. We also got to ride the Metro.

We visited the World War II Memorial.

We visited the Lincoln Memorial. The kids were amazed at the size of the memorial.

We walked along the National Mall.

It was very neat to see the founding documents at the National Archives Museum.

We got to visit the National Zoo.

It was an honor to be able to witness the Changing of Guard ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery. We learned a lot about the ceremony and its tradition.

Fortunately for us, the Corpse Flower at the National Botanical Garden was in bloom. (Because it was day 2 of bloom it didn’t stink, thank goodness!) The gardens were very pretty.

We got to see the Capitol Building.

And finally, the kiddos earned their Junior Ranger badge for the National Mall.

We throughly enjoyed D.C. and are looking forward to visiting again someday. Until next time D.C.
