A Town on an Island

Mont-St-Michel is a town on an island in Normandy, France leaving you awestruck in the architecture and beauty.

The town can be seen for miles.

We walked around the narrow  streets and steep stairs.

We visited the most prominent building on the island, the Abbaye du Mont-Saint-Michel. We learned that an abbey is a religious community where monks or nuns live, work, and pray. During the Hundred Year War this abbey remained defended by the French from the British. It become mostly visted by tourist until recently monks and nuns have reoccupied the abbey.

During our picnic lunch, we enjoyed some madelines.

We headed back to the AirBNB had a room clearing training session and got pizza from a local bar/pizza place with a pup hanging out.

We enjoyed our stay at our AirBNB and Normandy, onto our next adventure.
