We woke up and had another delicious American snack breakfast of Slim Jims and trail mix or granola bars. We fortunately packed a lot of American/German snacks before leaving, and I am so glad we did. The food has been less than desirable and most meals have been these snacks.

We took a peaceful back road with no hagglers to Karnak Temple. Karnak Temple was built over 2000 years ago in dedication to Amun-Ra, the Ancient Egyptian king of the gods. The temple has massive stone columns and some of the oldest surviving obelisks. To stand in ancient history next to massive stone pillars and statues was pretty amazing.

We then headed to lunch, which was our best meal we have had in Egypt.

After we refueled our bodies,we headed to a small Mumification Muesuem.

We then headed to the Nile for a cruise down the river. Our guide was great and we loved being back on the water. The kids (and Steven) got to help with the steering and sails.

After our sail down the Nile we went to a 4.9 rated restaurant for dinner. It had beautiful rooftop views, but the food turned out to be not the best.

The next morning, we woke up bright and early for a sunrise hot air balloon ride over the Valley of the Kings. It was absolutely beautiful from 1,700 feet above ground.
