Whittier is a town in Alaska that you can only get to by a one-way tunnel. Whittier is the gateway to the beautiful Prince William Sound. It is an active port and part of the Alaska Marine Highway.

There are several trails to hike in Whittier. We hiked Horsetail Falls Trail.

We found several berries on our hike up. Salmon berries, blueberries, highbush berries.

The view from the top was stunning of course and you can see Portage Glacier from Whittier.

Playing in the creek. We then went back through to tunnel headed back to Anchorage.

Our drive back did not disappoint. We first stopped to watch the salmon run.

We then spotted Beluga Whales migrating.

It was a great day trip to Whittier, Alaska. Now onto our next adventure.
