We took a day to explore our first castle in Europe.

We started our day with a short road trip to Heidelberg. We stopped at a local bakery when we got to the town. It was so good.

We then drove to the stunning Heidelberg Castle.

The castle also had an apotheken-museum (apothecary museum)

After the castle, we explored the town.

The churches in Germany are absolutely beautiful. We went inside one of them, and the kiddos put prayers on the prayer wall. We also climbed 340 stairs of a very narrow staircase to the top of the church.

We are looking forward to seeing much more of German and European history.
